End of 2014 Season

The season is winding down so it's a good time to highlight some dates coming up.

30 August - Season Finish (grades 7 and above)
Yes, Saturday 30 August is the final round of football games of the 2014 season!

1 September - Team Photos (grades 7 and above)
Team photos will be held at RAFC clubrooms, as usual. Players come in Ruahine uniform, and return their shirts after the photo.
You can organise to purchase team photos for $12.50 each. Money to be paid to your coach before or on the day.
Team photo times in the table attached. Please remember no boots in the clubrooms.

6 September
Last day for First Kicks

18 September - Prizegiving
Prizegiving will be held at the Baptist church on Church St as in previous years. Please arrive a few minutes early. Extended family welcome.
5.00 - 5.45pm Grades 8 and below
6.00 – 7.00pm Grades 9 and above

2014 Season starts Saturday 10 May!

Uniform: the Ruahine blue shorts, blue socks and shinpads can be purchased at Stirling Sports, on Broadway.  All players must wear shin pads to play football.
Ruahine shirts will be handed out to teams on the first day of the season, and need to be handed in at the end of the season. There is no charge for this.

Coaches Needed:  Parents from all teams are encouraged to be active in their kid’s playing time by coaching or managing.  Every team needs a coach for the season.  Central Football training is available

Game Days:Players need to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their start time, unless the coach has specified otherwise.  For the First Kicks and Fun Football players bring a drink and snack as it’s a long morning!

As outlined on the New Zealand Football website the Whole of Football Plan (WOFP) aligns all development programmes to provide a unified pathway into the game and deliver a consistent experience to all participants. It's not just about players - it also involves the ongoing development of coaches, referees and administrators.

Coaches and Managers

Coaches and Managers are volunteers from within our club's footballing families. You do not need previous experience in coaching as the Whole of Football Plan provides training skills and coaching methods. Also Central Football and Ruahine AFC provide training and mentoring of coaches.
